2'3" third, 2'6" first and 2'9" second and yes the Parry twins were there. Sali Parry has a new pony Jack, who is proving to be just as good as Jet
12th August Anglesey County Show.
What a horrible day, It had rained all night and continued to do so all day. Dylans first Class working hunter was at 8.30 and I dont think either him or Quest were awake, they got eliminated in the jumping, too many things going on for Quest and Dylan still sleeping!

Dylan Quest in the Working Hunter before elimination.
They did much better in the handy pony competition and came third

Dylan and Fiona Anglesey Show
At Anglesey Show this year Dylan spent lots of time talking to his hero Keith SHore who was competing also his young son James was competing. Dylan was more than pleased that Keith remembered him
Here I must say how well our Abby did in Anglesey Show She got through to the jump off on both Lucy and Morgan in the Discovery and She came second on Morgan being just beaten by James Shore

The event todaywas well attended and there are three classes 2'3" 2'6" and 2'9" the first is a warm up and the second two are qualifiers. Today Dylan got 3rd in the 2'3", 4th in the 2'6" and 4th in the 2'9" again being beaten by the Parry twins.
3rd July 2008 anglesey Equestrian Club.
Today Dylan had both his ponies back in competition. He took them both to siwans last Thursday to do some clear rounds and Quest was back to his old self of running out. So Dylan and Quest went for a lesson with Eliza Friday night and they worked well today. Dylan and Quest got 2nd in the working hunter, even though the judge had said that Dylan had the wrong jacket, the rong boots, the wrong hat and the wrong numnah! Possibly the wrong horse! who knows.
Quest and Dylan came second in the British Novice, having a double clear. Quest had a rest and Little Whisps had three double clears, in the Newcomer, the foxhunter in which Dylan got 2nd and 3rd being beaten by Lois Parry both times. Then he got a double clear in the open and came first.
Looking forward to the Shires Qualifiers at Trefor Stables starting on the 12th July.

29th June Porth Y Post one day event.
Today Dylan competed in his first one day event. He competed on Little Whisps (Nipper)He had 64% in his dressage and was on the same points as Abby and Jack. He had a clear in the Show Jumping and Abby had 4 faults. Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding Dylan was eliminated from the Cross Country but he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Abby went on to win the event well done Abby.

21st June 2008
Wow just realised how long it is since I have written in this, although shows didn't start until May really, so here goes.
Since last year Dylan has had a new pony, his name is Nipper (but we call him little Whisp) and he is registerd 138 sports pony, and he can jump! He is to replace Quest who must be sold, as Dylan can't keep two horses.
Llannerch Y Medd show 21st June 2008
What a day it absolutely poured down ALL day non stop. Dylan took Nipper as he did not get the cough but had antibiotics just in case and Quest is still recouperating. Dylan had entered the working hunter but decided it was just too wet and not safe to jump, so he stuck to the best young rider which is showing something that Dylan doesnt particularly like doing, but he did it and came first, but he really needs to make his show much shorter. He rode very well and his riding has improved since he has been having lessons with Eliza.
1st June 2008 Anglesey Equestrian
Again took Quest and Nipper today Dylan jumped Quest in the beginner and the novice and got third and fourth. He then went on Nipper and jumped the fox hunter and the open he came 4th in the fox and 2nd in the open (not bad considering he was jumping lead rein last season). We immediately put kaolin on Nipers legs and went home.
2nd June
Either the kaolin the shoes or both have worked as Nipper is not lame and was hacked out tonight.
Sunday 15th June
Dylan loaned Yasmin for the show today as his are having antibiotics and are in isolation. ( I wish listening to all the horses coughing today that other people would do the same) Anyway he did working hunter on Yasmin did a lovely show which Robyn said was better than she could have done. He came first and it was well deserved.
Then he took yasmin around the beginner course, he wasnt placed but it was good practice for the two of them.
Thursday 12th June
Dylan has waited a whole year to jump a course at Siwans, as Quest could not jump a twig last year but this year is doing fantastic.
Took Quest to Siwans, got there and he was coughing, (there is a bad cough doing the rounds) we felt it was unfair to other horses and Quest to keep him there so take him straight home. As Quest is in the field with Nipper, Dewi and Cariad Dylan was without a jumping pony. Sally kindly let Dylan do a round on Yasmin her lovely grey section B who Dylan fits far better than Robyn does!
27th May
Dylan went for his weekly lesson with Eliza on Nipper when Eliza noticed that he was lame, it was found that he had wind galls, which apparently cause him to go lame after jumping on hard ground.
we called out the farrier Chris Roberts who knows everything there is to know about horses, legs he thinks that it is a confirmation p[roblem and is doing some remedial shoeing to try to solve the problem. In the meantime a decision has been made that Dylan will use Quest for pony camp as he knows Quest and understands him whereas he is still gettin used to Nipper.
18th May 2008 Anglesey Equestrian
Dylan took Quest and Nipper to the show. He jumped Quest in the beginner class and the novice. He won the beginner, but lost concentration in the novice and came second. He jumped Nipper in the British Novice and came 4th out of about 20 competitors so not bad at all.
2007
15th December 2007 Bryn Derw. Christmas Show
This was the show that Dylan was not going to do as he had a football match. His match was cancelled so at 9.30 we decided to follow dad (as he was there with the van ) to Llestyns. They even waited for Dylan to arrive before starting the show. got there did a lovley clear round with Quest refusing one jump, but dylan turned him and the second time straight over. We saw this as an opportunity to see what Dylan and Quest can do. they entered the novice pony class which was approx 2' 6", they both flew around, they got a double clear and came third. They did a pairs and came second, Dylan like his mum could do with sat nav as he got lost! They then decided to enter the beginner class, again a double clear and Dylan and Quest came fourth out of nine entrants. We then discovered that this was a Dengie qualifier and Dylan and Quest are now eligable for the Dengie Winter League Final in March (if they so wish to do so). Every one commented on the quality of the pony and rider considering this was only their second time out and their first at a serious competition, (even if they didn't know). Well done Dylan and Quest we are proud of the way the two of you have grown in confidence and style.
1st DECMEBER 2007 Celt Y Gael Christmas Fun Show
This is a fun show held every year by the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. Dylan and Buggles have been attending now for at least five years. On the morning of the show having sorted everything for Quest and Dylan, he then decided that he would like to take Buggles, so we dragged him full of mud from the field into the trailer and took him along. there are many classes in this show including fancy dress, besat mane, best tail and the pony the judge would most like to take home. dylan dressed as a Welsh Dragon and entered many classess. He won the Thelwell pony on buggles and had second in the pony with the best tail. He had many secons and thirds some fourths . Have uploaded some pictures for you to see. as usual a great day was had by all. This show really is brilliant.
TREFOR STABLES 25TH NOVEMBER 2007.
With very little time to practice, Paula was entered by Carys for a dressage competition at Trefor Stables, this competition was being run by Blazing Saddles Riding Club. Carys worked very hard for two evenings with Paula and Jim to try to get them ready for the competition. She also during this time worked with her Whisper. Who had achieved double first the previous week at Bryn Derw being ridden by Eliza Roberts.
Anyway the competition was completed and the results were Carys and Whisper 2nd, Paula and Jim 3rd. As Paula said you are not allowed to beat the teacher! Glenis and Pearl had a well deserved 1st. There were 8 in the comp so we were very pleased with the results, but now Carys has entered us for a harder test! Watch this space.
ANGLESEY EQUESTRIAN CENTRE 3rd November 2007 Unaffiliated Show Jumping.
After five weeks of very hard work by Dylan Quest and most of all Eliza Roberts of Trefor Stables, Dylan felt ready to try show jumping again, so we decided to enter maybe the cross poles section at this event. After doing a clear round on the cross poles Dylan decided to skip that class and enter beginner class which he did and achieved a double clear and came an impressive third he was on a high both him and Quest did very very well.
They then decided to enter the novice class, along with people who have been doing this for many years longer than Dylan. Quest did not like the fillers, but both he and Dylan persevered and completed the course. Dylan, Quest were placed 2nd. Every body was very supportive and encouraged Dylan and Quest through out the afternoon. We enjoyed an event in a calm and relaxing atmosphere and both rider and pony proved what they can achieve when they are positively encouraged. Heres to the next one. Dylan couldn't wait to phone his Aunty Carys to tell her his results as she has been very supportive of him for months now and Aunty Carys was able to tell Eliza, and then of course he wanted his Abby to know, I am sure she was as pleased as we all were. Thanks to all at Anglesey Equestrian Centre and of course the biggest thanks must go to the patience and skills of Eliza who has taught Dylan that jumping can be fun!
Sunday 23rd September 2007. Pony Club Winter League Anglesey.
Dylan has been working all week with Eliza Roberts from Trefor Stables, to prepare for the winter league, even though everyone has said that he is not ready. He and Quest worked so hard that on Friday night they were clearing well over 2 foot 9 inches no problems. They both realised that they needed to concentrate and Dylan realised that he needed to talk to Quest.
It was a very wet day, but as they say the show must go on. Dylan went in to the warm up arena with Abby jumped a small cross pole then got called into the ring! Neither he or Quest were ready and got eliminated at the forth fence.
The second round Dylan waited patiently to enter the warm up arena, Eliza asked the steward to let him in as he needed to warm up, and was told he ha d a long time before his round. The next thing he was called in to the ring. Quest or Dylan were not ready and again eliminated at the forth fence.
Never mind there will be more shows with better stewards!
Sunday 2nd September 2007 Pentraeth charity show.
Arrived to find that the lady who runs the show had booked two tack vans to sell on the day! Tony was annoyed as we had turned up to the previous show. Anyway no point in two vans being at a small show approx 30 competitors so Tony went off to Porth Y Post with the van where Robyn and Abby were competing cross country.
Tracey, myself, Sioned, Dylan and Lois stayed at Pentraeth.
Lois stole the show as at the ripe old age of 3 and 4 months decided she was going to enter the young handlers competition with Buggles on her own, she did and came fifth out of nine and made everyone smile. She was given a trophy for entertaining everyone.Lois with her trophy and Pepsi
In the same competition Dylan and Wian got a very well deserved 2nd.
Dylan also entered Wian in hand Registered Section As where he competed against people who have been doing this for years and came 4th.
Dylan again got 2nd in hand with Quest.
4th with Quest riding and fourth with Handy pony although he tells me he may well have done better in handy pony but we did not wait for the results.
Dylan and Quest after the handy pony competition.!
