Whisper has come to us for his holidays. He has been on holiday to the countr, and now he is having a working holiday by the sea. He has been going stir crazy in the stable and as such has been naughty when coming out of the stable. So Tony has fetched him to have some time with us being a horse and learning how to do things other than competitions. This page will be hidden from Carys until we have finished, but I want to keep a diary of waht we are doing with him.

17th June Dylan and Tony went to collect Whisper from Capel Coch. He is going in the field right next to the beach with Breeze and Merlin so he can see the sea.

19th June Tony took Whisps for a walk on the beach, Whisper went straight in to lunging and did not mess at all. I think he likes being a real tough horse in a field. He went for a paddle in the sea but is not sure of the wet stuff! Can't upload photos at the moment so will put a link for you to view them.

Whispers seaside holiday 2008

20th June 2008

Took Whisper on the beach this time with his tack on. He walked and trotted on the lunge like a baby. Dylan got on him with Tony holding him on the lunge rein. They walked and Whisper was not bothered, they walked up and down and up and down until Tony got fed up, so he let Dylan off the lunge, they carried on walking and trotting with Dylan enjoying every minute and Whisper with his ears forward. They went up the beach Dylan turned him to come back down the beach and Dylan leaned over unbalancing Whisper who promptly bucked until Dylan elected to come off. He got straight back on and walked again. Whisper ran off after Dylan fell but we caught him. Tony says that Whisps is only used to people on him that sit lovely and he needs to get used to different seats on him. This makes sense. So we will persevere. Cos he is worth it.

21st June

Today it persistantly rained all day so did no work with Whisper.

22nd June

Very windy today watched Whisper runnning round the field chasing his shadow, he is having so much fun just being a horse.

Monday 23rd June

Today Whispers mum came to see him and he showed her how he can be a good boy lunging on the beach. We told her about Dylan riding him and she had the predicted heart attack. I don't think she realisis that if we thought Dylan would come to any serious harm we would not put him on Whisps.

Tuesday 24th June

Today I came home with a rotten headache and it rained so Whisper got away without any work being done.

Wednesday 25th June

Tooke Whisper for a lunge on the beach, he really was not interested in working he had no excess energy just managed a trot around the beach. He went for a paddle then  spent his time looking around and sniffing sea weed.
